The 2020 release of “The Freshman” EP is Terrell’s first extended play recording after previously releasing three singles. In 2019, Terrell released the singles ‘Get High’, ‘Money All Day’ and ‘Peace.’ The EP “The Freshman” features 9 tracks in total. The project features an array of styles showcasing Hip Hop beats, rhythm and blues, soul, the art of story telling and pop influences. Old School meets New School and it all comes together on “The Freshman.” Terrell addresses the community, the trials and tribulation of the streets, as well as his own musical journey. Moore’s talent is keeping it interesting for the listener and keeping it fresh. No two songs sound alike. ‘The Freshman’ is a ‘fresh’ take on ‘Philly Love’ and you’re able to experience life in Philadelphia through the eyes and mind of Terrell Moore. The track ‘I Go’ features a vocal delivery that is incredible and mainstream radio should jump on this. The flow on that song is crazy! Other standout tracks are “Crazy” featuring Ambitious Feek, “Real Talk”, “Philly Love,” “Summer Vibes”, “Talk To Me” and “Oh.” The track “Real Talk” is Hip Hop Heavy with street appeal. After a lengthy intro, the vocal delivery on this track is commendable. With lyrics like “Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer,” the song and beat goes hard. It reminds me of Kanye’s “Jesus Walks” vibe. On the track “Philly Love,” Terrell talks about doing better as humans, as a community. “Come on Philly, we gotta get it together; come on man, we say we’re the City of Brotherly Love, but we not showing no love” Moore says in the song. “Philly Love” has a feel good vibe but the lyrics are deep. Terrell keeps it 100 on this one. The track “Summer Vibes thumps hard and will having you grooving to the beat. And if that wasn’t enough, get turnt up with the party banger “Talk To Me” featuring Ambitious Feek. Produced by Shot, the album features contributions from LA Born Hollywood, Adonis, Tre Prada as well as the previously mentioned Ambitious Feek. After a full listen to “The Freshman”, you can’t but help become a fan. Terrell Moore cooks up the perfect amount of rapping and singing to appeal to the masses of music fans who are out there looking for good music. His formula is simple; put out a quality product and the fans will embrace it.
